More About This Fishing Trip
The Miami Falls Canal System is also known as the Cutler Drain Canal, which provides excellent fishing for a variety of sport fishes. In addition to the remarkable and world-renown peacock bass, you can also land a largemouth bass. One of the other added benefits of fishing this amazing canal system is that you can also catch freshwater snook and tarpon. Peacock bass were introduced to South Florida by FWC to control the population of other exotic species and the result is one of the best freshwater species you can catch.
Cutler Drain Canal anglers can also catch several exotic species including oscar, spotted tilapia and midas cichlids. All of these species have been illegally released in South Florida and have flourished here on the Falls Canals System. The system and other area canals receive a great deal of fishing pressure so guides encourage anglers to release most, if not all, Butterfly Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass, Snook or Tarpon they catch.
